Before Rox is out of sight, you excuse yourself from the group and let them know it’s time for you to head to bed. You bid a quick goodnight and head toward your room. Thankfully, Rox is headed in the same direction, her back facing you as she strides down the wide halls still bustling with students.

You don’t want her to become suspicious, so you decide to keep track of her only while you’re headed to your room. If she veers off, you won’t follow.

This plan feels pretty safe.

You continue to casually follow her down the long stone hallway that leads to the dormitories, laughter from other students filling the halls with happy echoes.

But when Rox reaches the stairway that leads up to your room on the second floor, she takes a right-hand turn.

Apparently, the moody girl’s room either isn’t upstairs—or she’s on another mission for the evening.

Darn.

But at least Rox probably isn’t suspicious of you following her. That’s good.
