Yeah I hate phone calls too…
It all began with drywall dust.
I turned to my hubby and started pouring out my frustrated feelings and thoughts. He already knew everything... but I wanted him to know that I was reaching my limit in our construction job and that I needed to find something else for me to do to help pay our bills. Soon. Like really soon. (We both worked construction and man... it takes a toll on your body and mind!)
I opened my phone and started reading him all of the math, budgets and ideas I had when he paused me and said...
"Well, what if we just started that business we've been talking about? Making high end corsets and dresses?"
My heart leaped! In a very good way. I closed my phone and never looked back at that list. He was all for it and so was I! It was an instant decision. We were going to create a handcrafted fantasy clothing brand. And I was pysched.
Making beautiful corsets and playing with fabric all day instead of suffocating in a respirator while cleaning up mouse infested walls? Heck yeah baby... I'm in!
Our Fox & Fern journey has just begun, and although we both quit construction as of 2025 and got new 9 to 5’s to pay the bills, we hope to both come home and work on something we’re actually passionate about. So every time you purchase an item from our shop, you bring us closer to home and give me the hope that we can someday we can work together doing something that lights up our soul and eventually provide incredible jobs to other people who are getting burnt out from their 9 to 5s.
